Yes, we are sowing into the works. A minimum goal of $100,000 before the end of 2019 is the mark. This is important due to a loss in financial support to sustain the ministry brought on by multiple factors included but not limited to; a loss in membership, aging parishioners, death, relocation of members seeking employment in other cities to escape from economically deprived areas, etc.
Add to this, two legal battles; one, brought on by the (previous) denominational leaders which resulted in one church being attacked and ending up in a four-church split. But love conquers all and we see God bringing restoration among our families and friends.
Another, by the city of Dumas with a frivolous lawsuit to take ownership of our property. Blessed be God we (though spending thousands of dollars) successfully won both cases. It has cost us great expense and damage. But we know ‘with God’ all things are possible, and we shall overcome!
We are looking ahead for the next generation and their futures and this vision and resources are critical to our progress.
The theme for ‘VISION REBUILD‘ comes from Hebrews 12:1. This passage speaks of laying aside past issues of entanglements and setbacks and looking ahead to Jesus Christ; the starting and finishing line for persons who live by faith.
‘VISION REBUILD’ focuses on the past years of 70-plus in ministry impact and future years that combine for 100 years with millions of dollars (already invested) in ministry support to persons from the corner of Walnut and Watermen to persons, ministries, families and institutions across the nation. It honors and uplifts the work of the past Visionary, Dr. A. L. Hunt, Sr. (family and congregation) and connects the ongoing vision lead by his son and current Visionary, Rev. Arthur L. Hunt, Jr., D.D. and the faithful remnant and supporters who are on board.
